 About Brian

Hello and welcome to my site! Please feel free to have a look around and enjoy my articles and soon to come video tips. I am a PGA teaching Professional currently teaching at The Downs Golf Practice Facility in Tampa, Florida. Prior to coming to The Downs, I taught at the Golf Digest School in Orlando, Florida. I was also a Master Instructor at the Jim McLean Golf School at the world famous Doral Golf Resort in Miami, Florida and was the Director of Instruction at the Junior Players Golf Academy in Hilton Head, South Carolina.  Now that I am at The Downs, my primary focus is building long term relationships with golfers and helping them achieve their golfing goals.  Over the last 20 years, I have had the good fortune and opportunity to be schooled by some of the game's top Instructors on the art of teaching.  I have also taken it upon myself to do my own research into what the best players in the world are doing, as well as staying on the cutting edge of current teaching techniques and technologies.  This, along with countless of hours of hands on teaching, has helped me shape my teaching style to best help you.  Being an experienced tournament player has given me further insight into the intricacies of playing the game at a competitive level.  Since 1993, I have competed in over 200 professional tournaments.  In recent times, I have won the 2009 Hilton Head PGA Championship.  I was also the 2009 Runner Up in the  Hilton Head PGA Player of the Year points race and selected to play on the 2009 Hilton Head PGA Honors Cup Team.  In 2011, I was the West Chapter North Florida PGA Shoot Out Champion. My instruction specialties include long term Junior golf development and putting instruction.  I have taken a keen interest in junior golf, and have researched best practices on how to develop young players through the different skill levels to reach their full potential. Over the past few years, I have focused a tremendous amount of time studying and researching putting instruction, as this is an aspect of the game almost never addressed. If you have never had a putting lesson, I invite you to indulge yourself in a putting evaluation with me and learn what you can do to consistently make more putts!

Junior Golf Summer Camps at The Downs Golf Center

Dear junior golf parent,

The downs golf practice facility is
pleased to announce it's 2012 summer
junior golf camps. The program will be
headed by The Downs PGA teaching
professional Brian Moore. Brian has 20
years of playing and teaching experience
as a professional. The camps will
run Monday through Thursday from 9-12 with an
on course play day on
Thursdays.

Specific areas to be covered will include the basics
of the full swing,
pitching, chipping, and putting.  Students will also
be engaged in fun group
activities that will promote the development of
hand-eye coordination, balance,
touch, and speed. We have designed a unique
junior program that thinks outside
the box from traditional instruction by
engaging the children friendly
competition, quality instruction, and the
development of basic athletic skills
that support good golf swings.

Included in the program are snacks and drinks for the week as well as lunch on
Thursday at the golf course. Each student will also receive a tee shirt and a Puma golf hat (orange for boys pink for girls).
This is a great opportunity for a youngster to sample the game as well as the aspiring junior looking for continued development and improvement.

We are looking
forward to hearing from you soon!!
